IBCF Research & Training Academy arranged a daylong training program on ‘Corporate Governance, Regulations & Supervision of Islamic Banks” held on February 24, 2018 at BAB office, Gulshan Dhaka.
Mr. Arastoo Khan, Chairman of Islamic Banks Consultative Forum and Islami Bank Bangladesh Ltd. distributed certificates among the participants as Chief Guest while Mr. A K M Nurul Fazal Bulbul, Vice Chairman, IBCF and CDBL presided over the certificate awarding ceremony. The chief guest remarked the above in the closing ceremony.
Mr. Khan expressed his deep concern over the scam of the sector. In his opinion ethical banking could be a safeguard. Mr. Khan also apprised that Shariah is the main strength of Islamic Banking.
The key resource persons of the training program were Md. Fariduddin Ahmed, Director of ICB Islamic Bank Ltd., Dr. Md. Sirajul Haque, Deputy General Manager, Bangladesh Bank, Md. Alamgir, Associate Professor, Bangladesh Institute of Bank Management (BIBM) and Lopa Rahman, Corporate Governance Officer, Advisory Services in South Asia International Finance Corporation, World Bank Group.
22 (twenty two) mid level executives of 9 Islamic Banks and Banks having Islamic Banking Branch & windows took part in the training program.
